RAVELIN is a tablet-based digital publication. The latest word in digital media, RAVELIN is an immersive environment that blurs the line between exterior and interior, object and observer, creator and consumer.

Designer Richard Agerbeek of Sweden Unlimited and artists Jon Widman and Hisham Bharoocha created RAVELIN as a space for subscribers and featured artists to explore an as yet uncharted digital medium. The mission is to bring together relevant and related artists from various fields and make the experience of their work more immediate and total by exploiting the full potential of new tablet technology.

RAVELIN takes its name from a three-sided medieval fortification, a technologically advanced structure placed on the forward side of the boundaries of the civilization that it protected. Likewise, RAVELIN, which will be published three times a year, anticipates and participates in a media landscape apart from and beyond the medium that contemporary publications exist in.

Issue one will feature work by Brian Chippendale, Corey Mccorkle, Hisham Akira Bharoocha, Justine Kurland, Mark Borthwick, Michael Rossi, Petrova Giberson, Rafael de Cárdenas, Sahra Motalebi, Sebastiaan Bremer, SO – IL, Tess Giberson, United Bamboo, Yukinori Maeda.
